Brazil is set to achieve a new record in soybean processing, with crushing volumes projected to reach 60 million metric tons in the 2025/26 season, according to estimates from Rabobank. The forecast marks an increase from 58 million tons processed in the previous season, reflecting the continued expansion of Brazil’s soybean industry and strong domestic demand for soybean meal and oil.
Rabobank also projected the country’s total soybean production at 177 million tons — a 3% rise compared to last year’s harvest. Despite higher output, soybean exports are expected to remain steady at 111 million tons, indicating a larger share of the crop will be used for domestic processing rather than foreign sales.
Analysts say the record crushing forecast highlights Brazil’s growing role as not only the world’s top soybean exporter but also a major global supplier of processed soy products. The increase in local crushing capacity aligns with rising demand from the livestock and biofuel sectors, both of which continue to drive investment in Brazil’s agricultural infrastructure.
