The 2025 U.S. soybean harvest has officially concluded, while corn harvest is approaching its final stages, according to the latest USDA crop progress report. As of Sunday, 96% of the nation’s corn crop has been harvested, just shy of the five-year average of 97%. Notably, three-quarters of the top corn-producing states have reached or surpassed the 95% mark.
Winter wheat planting is nearly complete, with 97% of the crop in the ground, matching the average pace. Emergence stands at 87%, slightly slower than typical years, while 48% of the crop is rated in good to excellent condition—up 3% from last week but 7% below the same time in 2024.
Other key crops show mixed progress. Cotton harvest is at 79%, slightly behind the normal 80% pace, and 91% of sorghum has been harvested compared to the usual 97% at this point in the season.
The USDA will pause its weekly crop progress and condition reports until early April 2026, signaling a seasonal transition to monitoring winter crops and planning for the next year’s planting.
