The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) took center stage last week at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, aiming to bolster relationships with Chinese industry leaders, government officials, and buyers. The event offered a strategic platform to showcase U.S. corn, sorghum, barley, and other bio-products to a wide audience eager for high-quality, reliable agricultural inputs.

Led by USGBC Chairman Mark Wilson, Vice President Cary Sifferath, and China Director Manuel Sanchez, the delegation highlighted U.S. agricultural innovations aligned with China’s evolving dietary and industrial needs. The team emphasized the importance of securing market access and promoting fair trade for U.S. producers.

At the expo, the Council’s booth demonstrated the versatility and quality of U.S. grains, while USGBC staff engaged in panels and networking sessions addressing logistical, regulatory, and sustainability challenges. Chinese attendees expressed optimism about future trade expansion and showed keen interest in ongoing collaborations, including technical training, market intelligence exchange, and joint research initiatives.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the USGBC delegation met with key end-users, holding discussions at the U.S. embassy in Beijing and with major poultry operations and government agencies.

China Director Manuel Sanchez underscored the significance of these engagements, stating that the expo reinforced the critical role of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in supporting mutual growth between U.S. producers and Chinese partners.
