The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) has announced the appointment of Mark Sevier as its new Manager of Global Strategies and Trade, based in Washington, D.C. Sevier succeeds Alexander Grabois, who has transitioned to the Council’s Panama City office as Deputy Regional Director for Latin America.
In his new role, Sevier will lead market development initiatives and provide trade servicing support to strengthen relationships with U.S. and international traders, customers, and end-users. His work is expected to advance USGBC’s global trade objectives and promote broader market access for U.S. grains and bio-products.
Kurt Shultz, USGBC Senior Director of Global Strategies, highlighted Sevier’s extensive experience, noting that his 16 years in international trade and financial management across 20 countries align seamlessly with the Council’s mission.
Sevier brings expertise from over five years as a director at ACDI/VOCA, where he managed agricultural trade programs and led private sector marketing initiatives funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He also contributed to Fintrac’s work in mobilizing private investment to scale commercial agricultural technologies in emerging markets.
Sevier holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ithaca College, and his appointment signals USGBC’s ongoing commitment to expanding global market development and fostering strong trade relationships.
