The American Soybean Association (ASA), in partnership with BASF, is inviting high school seniors interested in agriculture to apply for the ASA BASF Soy Scholarship, a $7,000 award designed to support students pursuing a college degree in agricultural studies during the 2026-27 academic year. The scholarship aims to nurture the next generation of agriculture leaders, recognizing the vital role they will play in sustaining and growing the soybean industry.

Eligible students must be children or grandchildren of current state soybean association or ASA members, maintain strong academic performance, and remain in good standing with their college or university. The award is distributed in two $3,500 installments, one per semester, and will be announced this winter by a committee of soybean grower leaders. Applications are open online from October 7 through December 31, 2025.

“Our future ag leaders are pivotal to ensuring growth in the industry, and it’s an honor to partner with BASF to provide a young student this support as they begin their agricultural degree,” said ASA President Caleb Ragland, a soybean farmer from Kentucky. He added that scholarships, mentoring, and educational programs are essential to fostering talent as the industry evolves.

BASF Vice President of U.S. Agricultural Solutions Scott Kay emphasized the company’s commitment to ag education, stating that the initiative “embodies our deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and empowering the next generation of ag leaders.”

Since 2008, ASA and BASF have recognized and supported students demonstrating strong dedication to agriculture through the Soy Scholarship, helping to cultivate a skilled and passionate workforce ready to meet the challenges of the modern agricultural landscape.
